Hi all,
Here are some photos from yesterday’s Hobby U painting class hosted by Jim Stanton and myself in New Canaan. We had a full class of 12 kids and adults.
The older gentleman in the photo just moved here with his family from North Carolina. He actually brought some military figures to paint, but was more concerned with getting his wife and son to try it out. They had never heard of HMGS in North Carolina. Jim told them about Fall-In, and they will definitely be attending.
Jim did a great job running the class. It became pretty apparent that his full time job is being a middle school teacher! I was the “rover”, walking around and helping with the details.
We gave 5 figures to each person and went over different techniques like washes and dry brushing. Some of the girls were pretty talented. A lot of the girls are also part of the libraries D&D group, so hopefully we can get them to come to our events as well. They seemed pretty excited about the Aztec game next month.
Enjoy the photos. Next week is the Battle of Brandywine Creek in Darien. I’ll send that update next Wednesday.
Thanks,
John
